March Break Madness
On March 11th the community decided to celebrate the impending end to winter with family oriented activities through out the weekend.  Rotary celebrated with a community pancake breakfast with the goal to raise funds for the breakfast / snack program at our village schools. It is well known that a student with a full tummy learns better that a hungry child.  $1000 was donated to the two ongoing school programs.  It really does take a village!

Timely accessibility to Mental Health help is a dire  issue in rural and remote Renfrew County, just as it is in many rural areas of Canada.  To that end, Eganville Rotary brought together service providers in our community to provide an information session on what is available in our community.  Asking for help might be difficult for various reason but knowing where to access help is important.  We at Rotary feel that this was such an important topic it has become the first, in what we hope to be recurring information sessions for the community.  Currently, in partnership with Rob. Webster Cooperator's Insurance of Eganville we are providing financial help to those needing psycho-therapy in our community

In our continuing speaker's corner program, Rotary was pleased to present a group of retired Renfrew County teachers and volunteers from The Women's Sexual Assault Centre.  The topic of "elder abuse" was very informative on an issue that many of use never even consider an issue in our enlightened society.
