2023 Eganville Christmas Parade
People are saying that this parade keeps getting bigger and better each year! The 2023 edition was a collaborative effort between the Rotary Club of Eganville and the Municipality of Bonnechere Valley. There were many dedicated behind the scenes volunteers that contributed to the success. A special thanks goes to Branch 353 Royal Canadian Legion who provided the hot chocolate and treats for the kids waiting to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Rural and Remote Mental Healthcare Initiative
In March 2022, Eganville Rotary, in collaboration with Rob Webster Insurance Ltd. (Cooperators Insurance) Eganviile and Cobden and Trinity Down Counselling of Eganville, embarked on a project to address the lack of mental health care in our rural community. Economically disadvantaged citizens can not access this vital health service for lack of money or transportation or both. This service is not covered by the provincial medical plan and so unless the person in need has private insurance or the financial means to pay, they go without. The cost to society is born in the increased rates of domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse, other criminal behaviour or self-harm with suicide as the extreme. With seed money provided by Rob Webster and The Cooperators Insurance Company the project was started. Rotary administered the funds and Trinity Down provided the psychotherapy. To date, the seed money, privately donated funds and Rotary funds from charitable resources have provided over 303 hours of low or no-cost therapy to citizens in need.
On December 9th 2023 the Eganville Community Choir held a Christmas musical program at Grace Lutheran Church in Eganville. $500.00 from the proceeds were presented to the Rotary Club to go towards the Mental Health initiative. This is enough funds to provide 10 hours of much needed counselling services.
